Isabelle Auger has been bending Canadian wood veneer into lamps in a Grover building studio on rue Parthenais in Montreal since 2010 — the ALBA, PERLA, PERA and FLORA collections of hanging lamps, PETULA wall lamps, and sixteen plug-in table lamps topping out at $330, among them the eleven-inch Alba at $250, oak veneer over a solid wood base with an eight-foot cord, switch and plug — shapes drawn from flowers, fruit, bulbs and nuts.
Atelier Cocotte's table lamps — wood veneer bodies on solid wood bases, wired with a cord, switch and plug and an E12 socket that takes any bulb up to a 60-watt equivalent — are electric table lamps not of base metal and not designed for use solely with LED sources, HTS 9405.29.80, which Annex II of the September 8 proclamation adds to the Section 338 list at a 50% additional duty on goods entered "on or after 12:01 a.m. eastern time on September 15, 2026". On the $250 Alba lamp in oak that is $125 in duty before shipping. Auger makes them herself in the one Montreal shop: "Since 2010, Atelier Cocotte has designed and produced lamps made from Canadian wood veneer... Handmade at the Montreal workshop", under a banner that reads "UNIQUE WOODLIGHTING HANDMADE IN MONTREAL".

The shop's "Table Lamps" collection holds "16 products", among them the Alba, described on its own page as "Cette lampe de table de 11 pouces combine la texture du placage de chêne à une base en bois massif" and wired with a "Cordon transparent de 8 pieds avec interrupteur et fiche". Its socket is not LED-only — "IMPORTANT : Ampoule DEL, douille chandelier E12, équivalence maximale de 60 watts" — and the body is wood, not base metal, which puts it under HTS 9405.29.80, one of the lamp lines Annex II of the September 8 proclamation inserts alongside "9405.29.40 9405.29.60".
