Sterling Oehlschlager carves solid hardwood into lighting at 780 East Cordova Street in East Vancouver: the Nimbus linear pendant from $1,780 CAD cut from a single piece of hardwood, the stepped-baffle Apollo pendant from $2,240, the Arborlux and Chaparral families of pendants, wall sconces, $550 table lamps and floor lamps to $2,450 that pair carved wood with hand-blown glass spheres, plus replacement globes, G4 12V LED bulbs and dimmable drivers.
Oehl's pendants and wall sconces are electric ceiling and wall lighting fittings built to run solely on LED sources, HTS 9405.11.80 on the CBP Section 338 list, so every Nimbus, Apollo, Arborlux or Chaparral fixture shipped to an American customer carries a 50% duty on top of the price, in effect since August 22, 2026 — $1,120 on the $2,240 Apollo Pendant. The Arborlux and Chaparral table and floor lamps join them at 50% under HTS 9405.21.80 when the list expands on September 15, 2026. The studio sells straight into that market — "Yes! The Apollo Pendant is "a contemporary linear suspension fixture crafted from solid, carefully graded hardwood" whose baffle enhances "the performance of its high-quality integrated LEDs", and the Chaparral Wall Sconce is "a whimsical and minimal wall light" of carved wood and blown glass; the fixtures run on the shop's own 12V and 24V LED drivers and "G4 Base 12V DC" LED bulbs. Wooden ceiling and wall lighting fittings built solely for LED sources, and not of base metal, fall under HTS 9405.11.80 on the CBP Section 338 list.

The Chaparral and Arborlux table lamps ($550 CAD) and floor lamps (to $2,450 CAD) are carved hardwood — the Chaparral Floor Lamp spec sheet reads "Materials: Solid Walnut/Ash/Oak" and "Lamping: G4 LED" — and take only the studio's "G4 Base 12V DC" LED bulbs on a 12V driver. Wooden floor and table lamps designed solely for LED sources fall under HTS 9405.21.80, added to the Section 338 list in the White House auto annex effective September 15, 2026.
