Mario prints tabletop wargaming tokens to order in Vancouver — status-effect, soul, corpse, dig-in and hunger-and-torment markers, full colour-coded army token sets for Warmachine armies from Jungle Trolls to Vampire Elves at $15 to $40 CDN, seasonal upgrade packs and $10 command card decks — each token a printed paper sticker inset into a 3D-printed disc, with STL files sold for players who print their own.
This 50% tariff comes from the invocation of Section 338 of the US Tariff act.Source: centuriontactics.ca, Sep 9, 2026
Wargaming tokens, markers, army sets and their card decks are toys and toy accessories under HTS 9503.00.00 on the CBP Section 338 list, carrying a 50% additional US duty since August 22, 2026. Centurion Tactics names the measure itself on its home page and has chosen not to bury the charge in its prices, so an American player sees it added at checkout, on top of what the shop describes as a 10% Section 301 duty levied earlier this year: a $35 army set arrives carrying about $17.50 in Section 338 duty before shipping. Mario says the shop will drop the charge the moment it is no longer required.
In their own words
This 50% tariff comes from the invocation of Section 338 of the US Tariff act. This is in addition to the 10% import tax (Section 301 Duty) levied on all US imports earlier this year.

The maker names the legal authority behind the charge in a standing notice headed "To Our Valued US customers" at the top of his home page.
These costs have not been added to the purchase price of items from US addresses. They will show up as an additional tax at checkout.

Centurion Tactics has left its prices alone and lets the duty appear separately, so American buyers can see exactly what the measure costs them.
We understand that this impacts the affordability of these items beyond the original intended cost of the product. When these costs are no longer required, they will be removed from the site.

The maker's closing line to his American customers: the surcharge comes off the day the duty does.

Made in Canada
Nothing is farmed out: "These are traditionally printed paper stickers inset into a 3d printed token. Everything is printed in house and that gives us a lot of flexibility to mix and match and create a product you want." The shop opens its US notice by saying so plainly — "Centurion Tactics is a Canadian company and all sales to US residents must cross the Canada/US border."

Tokens, markers and card decks used with tabletop wargaming miniatures are toy accessories under HTS 9503.00.00 on the CBP Section 338 list. The maker names the same measure himself: "This 50% tariff comes from the invocation of Section 338 of the US Tariff act."
