Daniel Sturges and his rod builders have hand-wrapped custom freshwater rods in Wasaga Beach since 1996, from bass and walleye sticks to musky casters, centrepin float rods and tournament fly rods.

Fishing rods crossed into the United States duty-free until August 22, 2026, when HTS 9507.10.00 picked up the 50% Section 338 duty; on September 15 the White House narrowed the line to the statistical breakout 9507.10.0040, fishing rods, still at 50%. Finished fishing rods have carried a 50% Section 338 duty into the United States since August 22, 2026, and the September 15 scope change kept them on the list as HTS 9507.10.0040.
