New York Furs has cut and finished fur garments on Adelaide Street in Toronto's fashion district since 1923, today at 342 Adelaide St West, showing "fur coats, shawls, scarves, hats, trimmed hoods, and custom garments" in its showroom and doing cold storage, cleaning, repairs and restyling for coats clients already own.

Fur coats, capes, vests, hats and trimmed hoods are articles of apparel and clothing accessories of furskin, HTS 4303.10.00 on the CBP Section 338 list, so a garment cut in the Adelaide Street workroom and sold to an American client has carried a 50% US duty under HTS 4303.10.00 since August 22, 2026. New York Furs sells from its showroom rather than an online store and its site says nothing about the duty.Source: content.govdelivery.com, Aug 22, 2026

Made in Canada

The site says the making and the care both happen on Adelaide Street - "Made, fitted, and cared for in-house" - with Chris and Peter Kotsaboikidis doing the "fitting, tailoring, restoring, and storing finished pieces"; the pelts come from international auctions, and the site never uses the phrase "made in Canada".

The collection is "fur coats, shawls, scarves, hats, trimmed hoods, and custom garments", listed as "Mink & full-length coats" and "Trimmed hoods", and the gallery names pieces such as "Blackglama Mink", "Russian Sable" and "Red Fox Vest". Fur coats, vests, hats and scarves are articles of apparel and clothing accessories of furskin under HTS 4303.10.00. The shop sells no whole pelts, so the September 15 furskin lines do not apply.

Rates are the additional US duty under Section 338. About the tariffs
